Thrive LDN

Thrive LDN is a citywide public mental health partnership funded by the Mayor of London, NHS and wider health partners. Our aim is to ensure all Londoners have an equal opportunity for good mental health and wellbeing.

We are a coalition of partners working towards the shared mission of ensuring everyone living or working in London is treated fairly and can live a happy and healthy life.

#ZeroSuicideLDN campaign

We’re proud to have partnered with the Zero Suicide Alliance (ZSA) and the Mayor of London to create the #ZeroSuicideLDN campaign to encourage Londoners to access the ZSA’s free, online suicide prevention training.

Since the campaign was launched in 2019, it’s helped more than 420,000 Londoners be trained in suicide prevention through the various ZSA training courses.

Real Time Surveillance System

Launched in 2019, Thrive LDN’s Real Time Surveillance System (RTSS) is a source for monitoring individual suspected suicides for the London region. It is co-hosted by the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) to provide a platform to securely collect and share real-time data on suspected suicides between multiple agencies.

This real-time monitoring of suicide incidence enables more targeted prevention programmes that address identified patterns of suicide within London. Doing so helps to reduce the number of Londoners who take their own life whilst providing invaluable insight into circumstances around suicide and mental health issues in London. Given the known higher risk of suicide of those bereaved by suicide, the system also facilitates real-time referral of those impacted by suicide into NHS-commissioned bereavement services.

Free trauma informed practice training

In recent years, Thrive LDN has partnered with Nicola Lester Psychological Trauma Consultancy to develop free, online trauma informed practice training to support individuals and organisations, called The Gift of Reconnection training series.

Participating in the training supports an understanding of how trauma influences and shapes the lives of those it touches regardless of previous knowledge or expertise.

The Gift of Reconnection training series comprises of:

  1. Trauma informed practice training across three levels (modules): bronze, silver, and gold.
  2. A selection of supplementary resources to support practitioners working with children and young people which complement the bronze, silver and gold modules.
  3. Trauma informed family liaison practice training module.
  4. A selection of supplementary resources providing specialist guidance for educators and educational settings which complement the family liaison module.

Thrive LDN and partners share the ultimate aspiration of making London a zero suicide city.

We are the regional lead for suicide prevention in London on behalf of NHS England and we believe partnership working is paramount to creating meaningful change.
