Mental health and specialist services in Australia’s Gold Coast have published two articles of leading interest (November 2020).

The newly launched ZSA Foundation will build upon the work of the Zero Suicide Alliance (ZSA) with the aim of increasing resilience as the country continues to battle the detrimental impact that the pandemic may bring to people’s mental health.

In the run up to World Mental Health Day 2020 the ZSA wants to raise awareness of young people’s mental health and recognise that early intervention, caring conversation and rapid access to clinical support is extremely important. One of our affiliate suicide prevention charities is Olly’s Future which was founded by friends and family of Oliver Hare from Worthing.

Zero Suicide Alliance are working with leading UK events organisation Corporate Entertainment Professionals (CEP) to tackle the potentially lethal effect of stigmatising language in addressing mental health issues.

ZSA’s new Step Up module – developed and released in time for World Suicide Prevention Day (10 September 2020) - is designed to give people the skills required to identify and reach out to someone whose mental health may be suffering.

A major free online resource, designed to help reduce suicide, suicidal thoughts and behaviour has been launched by the Zero Suicide Alliance. The new ZSA Resources site will support government, councils and NHS bodies target services and investment to create mentally healthier communities.

The website aims to provide a one-stop-shop for best practice in suicide prevention and has been developed with the support of the Health Innovation Network and the Mental Health Foundation.

A new ‘Step Up Module’ to the Zero Suicide Alliance’s (ZSA) award-winning suicide prevention training has been launched to try and support the UK’s resilience in the aftermath of the coronavirus lockdown.

The Zero Suicide Alliance (ZSA) has teamed up with an award-winning TV production company, one of the leading UK men’s charities and comedian Romesh Ranganathan to record a special episode of an online chat show that examines the impact of the coronavirus lockdown on mental health.

As part of Men’s Health Week 2020, the ZSA are looking at charities created following the tragedy of male suicide. We want to raise awareness of men’s mental health and recognise that suicide is preventable via early intervention, caring conversation and rapid access to clinical support.

Our fourth charity is Metal for Life NI which was established in 2018 in memory of Dani Kansanaho, who tragically took his own life in October 2017, aged 23.
