Comedian and quiz show veteran Roy Walker will test the nation’s knowledge this September while raising money to help prevent suicide.
Host of the iconic ITV show Catchphrase in the 1980s and 1990s, Roy will be joined by soap stars and celebrities for The Big Quiz on Friday, September 10 in support of the Zero Suicide Alliance (ZSA).
Streamed online at 7.30pm on World Suicide Prevention Day, The Big Quiz is open to everyone with access to a computer. Contestants will be challenged by Coronation Street’s DS Swain (Vicky Myers), TV Gladiator Vogue (Suzie Cox) and TV and radio presenter Dan Westwood amongst others in 10 rounds of fun from song lyrics to geography via the 1990s.
Organisers are encouraging people to take part virtually from home, virtually as a group via an online sharing platform like Zoom or Microsoft Teams or at a school, club, church hall or community centre where larger groups can take part.
The Big Quiz is free to enter and as part of the Alliance’s Zero Hero campaign contestants are encouraged to raise funds and awareness of the ZSA and the work it does in suicide prevention. The ZSA Suicide Awareness Training is free to access online.
To take part in The Big Quiz, teams are encouraged to register via the ZSA website. You will then be given access to The Big Quiz Competitors area, and all the resources you need to have a great night. Make a donation to the ZSA.
