The Defendant offer a free confidential helpline which provides emotional and practical support for defendants in the criminal justice system, whether they are at an investigation, charge or trial stage.

Prisoners' Families Helpline

The Prisoners' Families helpline offers support to those with a family member who is in contact with the criminal justice system in England and Wales. They provide information on all aspect of the criminal justice system, from being arrested, visiting a prison or preparing for release.

Call 0808 808 2003 free or email info@prisonersfamilies.org.

Open 9 am to 8 pm, Monday to Friday. Open 10 am to 3 pm, Weekends.

Unlock

Unlock provide a free, confidential helpline which provides information and advice to people with convictions. This offers support to help people overcome the problems and difficulties that are caused by criminal convictions. 

Call 01634 247350, use the online form for yourself or use the online form on behalf of someone else.
