Share your experience
We believe real experiences have the power to create change. Whether you're reflecting on the impact of our suicide awareness training or sharing a personal experience of loss, recovery, or conversation... your voice matters.
Your experiences might explore:
- Understanding loss
- Finding hope
- Navigating recovery
- The importance of conversation
- Challenging stigma
Who can share a story
You may want to share your story if you are:
-
Someone with lived experience of suicidal thoughts or feelings
-
A family member, friend or carer who has supported someone through distress
-
A professional working in suicide prevention or supporting people at risk
-
Anyone who has a perspective that could help others understand suicide more compassionately
Your story has the power to help others feel seen, understood and less alone. By sharing your experience, you can bring hope, challenge stigma and support people who may be struggling. There is no 'right' type of story. If your experience feels meaningful to you, it may be meaningful to someone else too.
Guidelines for submission
- Share only what feels comfortable - your story will be public.
- Your story may be shared via our website, social media, member newsletters, or fundraising materials to inspire and support others.
- Submissions may be lightly edited for clarity, safety, and readability, but your voice will remain authentic.
- We're unable to advertise or endorse books, podcasts, short films, or similar media.
- While concerns about specific services may arise, we are unable to name organisations in your story.
