January training figures and feedback

January 2026 was the month our training was taken 19,081 times which took us to a new milestone of 3 million times our training has been taken - we shared insights and feedback to celebrate this milestone.

Feedback in January included…

Healthcare Staff and Suicide Awareness Training

Those working in health and care settings described the training as practical, realistic and confidence‑building:

  • “I was very impressed by the approach this training has taken to a very sensitive subject. I really enjoyed the different scenarios and looking at how being present and aware can help somebody who may be struggling.”
  • “It's the best training I've done for suicide prevention virtually. It was balanced, thoughtful and realistic.
  • “… the scenarios were very real and showing daily struggles we face. Knowing that asking for help makes me a braver person not weaker.”
  • “I enjoyed the training and it has helped me to see life in a different way, understand that it is important to be that voice, that support, and that one person to have one minute of my life that can save a person's life.”
  • “Very helpful training which explored signs to be aware of and how to respond in a helpful way. In addition, the course helps to break down the stigma about suicide and the importance of being clear and direct when talking with someone about their feelings.”

Others shared how the training helped them reflect on their own wellbeing:

  • “The training is great and informative. I myself have experienced getting stressed and suicidal thoughts often occurred in my mind, it reminded me how to handle things properly. This training could only not help staff identify people with suicidal tendencies, but it can also guide people who are stressed or depressed on how to handle or properly address their problems. This training is a great tool to make everyone aware on how to prevent suicide.”

Suicide awareness training

Some people shared about feeling more prepared, more confident, and less afraid to talk openly about suicide:

  • “I feel more able to support people, including strangers… It’s so beneficial to know it’s ok to use the word suicide.”
  • “Clear, calm and very useful… it will help anyone try to help rather than becoming overwhelmed with panic.”
  • “This course significantly deepened my understanding of how complex and multifaceted suicidal thoughts can be.”
  • “As daunting as these conversations are, this course showed me they don’t need to be complex. Openness is key.”

And some shared deeply personal reflections:

  • “At the height of my depression, I contemplated suicide. In the scenarios, I recognised some of the symptoms. I asked for help and I am still here today.”
