Help shape new suicide awareness training for farming, rural and agricultural communities

We’ve have been commissioned by NHS Lincolnshire Integrated Care Board to develop a new online suicide awareness training course designed to support people living and working in rural and agricultural settings.

To ensure the course reflects real experiences and real needs, we are working closely with Lincolnshire County Council and Lincolnshire Rural Support Network (LRSN) and we need your support and insight.

Your experiences matters

We are gathering lived and professional experiences from people across the farming and rural community, as well as those who support them. Whether you are a farmer, an agricultural worker, a family member, a neighbour, a vet, a contractor, a volunteer, or a professional working alongside rural communities - your perspective can help shape training that truly makes a difference.

Why your voice is so important

Farming, rural and agricultural communities are diverse and resilient, but they also face unique pressures that can be misunderstood or overlooked. By sharing your experience, you can help ensure the training:

  • Reflects the realities of rural life
  • Uses language and examples that feel authentic
  • Respects the culture, values and rhythms of farming
  • Supports people to notice concerns earlier
  • Builds confidence to ask directly about suicide
  • Provides clear, relevant routes to support

Your insight could help someone recognise the signs in a friend, neighbour or colleague. It could help someone feel less alone. It could save a life.

Take part in the survey

If you live or work in a farming, rural or agricultural community, or support those who do, we invite you to share your experience. The survey responses will help shape the development of this new national training resource.
